Careers

The Profession

A chemical laboratory technician works in close cooperation with scientists, doctors and engineers in research, development and company laboratories in industry as well as at universities and research institutes. Chemical laboratory technicians carry out analyses, syntheses, quality controls and metrological work independently. They plan their work processes in the laboratory and evaluate the results. Independence, compliance with work safety regulations, rules and regulations on health protection, environmental protection and quality assurance are important qualities for a chemical laboratory technician.

The vocational school is located in Oldenburg. The apprenticeship to become a chemical laboratory technician takes 3.5 years.
