The profession

As an IT specialist for system integration (m/f/d) at Glencore Nordenham, you will learn in an exciting and varied working environment how IT systems are planned, set up, and maintained.

All About the Apprenticeship

  • Teamwork: You will work in a well-coordinated IT team and support joint projects as well as daily operations.

  • IT system support: You will learn how to set up, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and workstations.

  • Troubleshooting: In case of disruptions, you will help identify issues and develop solutions.

  • Network infrastructure: You will gain insights into the setup and administration of networks and their security.

  • Support & consulting: You will assist users with IT-related questions and support the implementation of new systems. 

  • IT security: You will learn how to protect systems and implement security measures.

The training to become an IT specialist for system integration (m/f/d) lasts 3 years. If you perform exceptionally well, you may be able to shorten the training period to 2.5 years. You will receive training both in our own facilities and at the vocational school. Here, you will learn everything you need for your role with us, including theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

We expect you to have a good secondary school diploma (Realschulabschluss) or higher education qualification (Abitur/Fachabitur). Additionally, you should have a strong interest in and good grades in computer science and mathematics. A careful and structured way of working, logical thinking, and the ability to work in a team are also important.
